• The Heaven Sent Mattress goes above and beyond industry standards for safety. There are NO toxic chemicals used, allowing for a healthy environment. The primary contact surface is an “open weave” spacer fabric; a breathable medical-grade, 100% permanent treatment-free poly fiber that has an open knit porous surface allowing for passive airflow. This surface fabric is sewn to a an open weave mesh tension under-fabric. Below the primary surface of every other mattress on the market are more layers, and often plant and animal fibers. Some organic mattresses tout rubber, or other latex typed products which can cause allergic reactions. Even with these organic materials, chemicals are being used to water-proof the surface. Most of these water-proofing, “nano-coatings,” contain monomer bonding agents which is a known toxin. With the Heaven Sent Breathable Crib Mattress, the next and only other layer is AIR. And you cannot get more organic, or breathable than air.

• The safety designed integrated bumper is an untrasoft welt cording that is constructed using recycled production scraps from the manufacturing of medical masks and supplies. This cording is manufactured in Beautiful Spring Lake, Michigan.

• The decorative sides of the Heaven Sent Breathable Crib Mattress are made from pure hardwood maple. This Maple is from the Adirondack region of upperstate New York. This region is known for its renewable wood harvesting, recycling, and conservation efforts. Our wood is harvested from forests that meet stringent environmental, social, and economic standards.

• Our wood finishes are natural- plant based finishes that contain NO aniline dyestuffs, no gilsonite or asphalt, no aromatic solvents and no formaldehyde.

• The bottom section of the crib mattress is made from recycled milk jugs. The plastic is a polypropylene #5 which is the same plastic used for children’s toothbrushes.

• In our effort to reduce our environmental impact, we use local and regional suppliers resulting in lower emissions, and more fuel efficient transport of our supplies.
