The mission of Secure Beginnings, llc is to deliver to consumers a safer, more sanitary, substitute to traditional crib mattresses that provides a better night’s sleep for babies.

The Secure Beginnings Story
When automotive and product designer Kelly’s first child was born, a revolutionary safe sleep product’s concept was also born.
Kelly had a close personal friend who lost a child to sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS). Kelly’s deep sadness for his friend’s loss quickly became concern for the well being of his own children. He directed his attention to developing a “safer” infant sleep surface that would address the many issues related to SIDS deaths. Kelly was determined to offer his own children a sleep surface that would reduce the potential to breathe harmful levels of carbon dioxide (CO2). Kelly also noticed in his research that an elevated body temperature was present in many SIDS related deaths. Incorporating a “passive airflow” design in his baby’s sleep surface to maintain a stable temperature was thus critical. With a great design in mind, Kelly just needed the right opportunity to bring his idea to market.
A Company is Born
When product designer Kelly met Julie, who had lost a niece to SIDS, a company was born. Julie’s marketing and interior design experience brought the right mix to launch this revolutionary breathable crib mattress with all of its safety features in eye-catching colors, designs, and finishes that bring a look of style and quality to any nursery.
Not only does this crib mattress allow a baby to breathe freely through the surface, it addresses a multitude of other concerns with traditional and organic crib mattresses including bacteria build-up, chemicals used in both conventional and organic mattresses to conform to fire regulations, and sanitary issues.
